Paediatric Chiropractic

Child having their back and posture assessed by chiropractor. Scoliosis, growing pains, torticollis, plagiocephaly, flat head, bed wetting, constipation, latching issues, tongue tie, lip tie, back pain, knee pain, concussion, sports injuries

Infants and children grow and develop at an incredible pace, and this rapid growth can have a significant impact on their joints, muscles, and nervous systems. As a chiropractor trained in working with pediatric populations, I offer care that supports your child’s development in a safe, gentle, and child-centered way.

Chiropractic care for children looks quite different than it does for adults. Adjustments are tailored to your child’s size and stage of development, often using only light finger pressure—similar to the amount you’d use to check the ripeness of a peach. There’s no twisting, high-force movements, or the “popping” sound that’s typically associated with adult chiropractic care. When appropriate, I may use a handheld instrument (Activator) on the lowest setting to gently adjust toddlers and older children.

During your child’s appointment, I’ll take the time to learn about your concerns, assess their movement patterns and alignment, and make sure the visit is fun and engaging for your little one. If adjustments are indicated, I’ll walk you through the options so you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. I also regularly incorporate Craniosacral Therapy (CST) into my care for infants and children, which is a gentle technique that supports the nervous system and overall function.

Parents typically seek pediatric chiropractic care for three main reasons: alignment concerns, growth-related issues, and orthopedic conditions.

Alignment Concerns

How your child moves, sits, sleeps, or is held can all influence their alignment and musculoskeletal development. Some common conditions I support include:

  • Infant torticollis (favoring one side of the neck)

  • Flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly, brachycephaly)

  • Latching issues related to jaw tension or palate shape

  • Tethered oral tissue support (tongue, lip, or cheek ties—note: I do not perform revisions)

  • In-toeing or out-toeing

  • W-sitting

  • Frequent tripping or falling

Growth-Related Conditions

Growing can place a lot of stress on developing bodies. Pain and dysfunction should never limit your child’s ability to thrive. Chiropractic care can help manage discomfort and support healthy movement through conditions such as:

  • Sever’s disease (heel pain)

  • Osgood-Schlatter’s syndrome (knee pain)

  • Muscle imbalances from growth spurts

  • Motor development concerns (milestones, crawling, balance, crossing midline)

  • Coordination and balance challenges

Orthopedic Conditions

Just like adults, children can experience musculoskeletal injuries and conditions that benefit from early support. Some of the more common ones I see include:

  • Toe walking

  • Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease

  • Scoliosis

  • Foot and arch development concerns

  • Sports-related injuries

  • Concussions

Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis, developmental concern, or simply want to support your child’s wellness holistically, I’m here to work collaboratively with you and your child’s care team to provide safe, compassionate, and effective support.
